Mpatso (12) meaning gift, his mother died in ndirande and his father went back to his district of origin in Monkey bay left him back with his uncle whom he was taking care of him and forced him to stop going to school because of this Mphatso found it necessary for him to go to the street to ask for arms for his survival. Mphatso wondered on his own to Blantyre where the local police pick him up and brought him to Steka House. He will also resume going to school next term. The government school tests these children by putting them in the lowest standard possible and the evaluating their knowledge. They then promote them as quickly as possible to the next higher standard. Our boys are in a government school called HHI (Henry Henderson Institute) and our girls in Blantyre Girls Primary school, also a government school.
