Step Kids Awareness has once again organised a fundraising bigwalk from Blantyre to Mzuzu (900 Kilometers including all the diversions) on foot. Mind you its on foot!!!!
The main aim of the walk is to raise funds for the expansion of Steka's activities to include more street kids. We now have 26 kids and taking care of them is becoming a very big challenge. We hope to raise alot of money in this activity thats why we are apealing to you to help us.
The walk will start on 5th June 2010 at Old Town hall in Blantyre and the Guest of Honour will be Malawi's Minister of Women and Child Development, Honourable Patricia Kaliati MP. We will also be given a chance to stop at the National Assembly in Lilongwe to sensitise the Honourable members of Parliaments of the problems street kids are facing in the country.
In Mzuzu we will finish at the Mzuzu City Assembly Offices.
We have created a secial blog to update you on what will be hapenning on the way to Mzuzu. Or you can join us on our facebook group or you can follow us on Twitter @stekamalawi
Three people, Godknows Maseko, Joseph Nkula and Harrison Zingunde will walk the 900Km for approximately 30 days.
